Majed Khalil, MS

“Sometimes you climb out of bed in the morning and you think, I’m not going to make it, but you laugh inside—remembering all the times you’ve felt that way.” — Charles Bukowski

Majed graduated from Benedictine University of Lisle, IL with a MS, in Clinical Psychology and Counseling. Majed also attended Saint Xavier University to obtain his bachelor’s in clinical psychology and counseling, as well as Roosevelt University to obtain his MA, in General Psychology.

Majed completed his practicum at Family Counseling Services of Aurora and remained on staff to continue serving in the community mental health sector.

Majed’s experience ranges from working with chronically mentally ill clients at non-for-profit organizations to also working with those struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD and bipolar disorder.  Majed’s approaches are comprised of psychodynamic, existential, CBT, DBT, person-centered and motivational interviewing.

Majed values being attuned with clients from the moment they meet, until clients feel confident enough to move forward without therapy. Majed places an emphasis on building a foundational rapport with clients and placing the client – therapist relationship at the top of his hierarchy when approaching treatment.

Majed has worked with both individuals and families. Majed is available virtually as well as in person, but prefers to meet in person, if possible, for the first couple of sessions to establish a solid rapport before going remote.
