Bio

“Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

I graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a bachelor’s in social work and a minor in criminal Justice. At Olivet Nazarene University I was able to do an internship at a residential facility with adolescents and young adults who dealt with behavioral issues, self-harming, eating disorders, and trauma. This internship helped me realize that my passion is to work with children and adults, to help them see that the trauma and problems they are going through do not define them but shape them into who they will become in the future.

During the time between obtaining my masters and beginning my career as a clinician I was a 911 dispatcher. Dispatching for emergency services helped me develop my passion for crisis work, trauma, and individual therapy. After every call I was left with a desire to do more, to make a bigger and more permanent change in someone’s life. I received my master’s degree from Aurora University with a concentration in Child Welfare.

My goal as a clinician is to provide a safe space for clients. Where clients can challenge themselves to new experiences, perspectives, and ideas to grow in a safe environment. To understand that it’s okay to not be okay sometimes and it is all about how we recover from those setbacks in life. I believe in a client- centered approach in order to meet the client where they are and provide support and skills that they can apply for the rest of their lives. Mental wellness starts with you and your decision and commitment to become a happier and healthier version of yourself.
