Bio
Starting therapy can be an intimidating process that requires trust and vulnerability. I understand that therapy may feel unfamiliar and even daunting, particularly for individuals who have been historically ignored or discriminated against by society. As a therapist, I am committed to providing an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and anti-Zionist space where your unique experiences are honored, and your voice is heard.
My goal is to celebrate the differences that make you who you are, and use them to build a treatment plan that is individualized and unique to your needs. My therapy style is person-centered and non-judgmental, rooted in techniques of psychodynamic and Internal Family Systems therapy with elements of DBT, ACT, and mindfulness practices. My areas of focus include depression/mood disorders, anxiety, childhood trauma, grief, self/racial/cultural identity concerns and more.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. I graduated from Benedictine University with a M.S. in Clinical Psychology. Before working at Stone Catchers Counseling, I interned and worked at Guiding Light Counseling for 4 years where I provided therapy for students in the Valley View school district at the elementary, middle, and high school level. I also have experience working with young adults, adults, families and couples.
